About West Hollywood and the Sunset Strip: the back story

West Hollywood is a small, walkable city between Hollywood and Beverly Hills, home to the Sunset Strip, the Design District and some of the city’s liveliest bars.

The Strip

Whisky a Go Go, The Roxy and the Rainbow, Chateau Marmont and Sunset Tower line Sunset Boulevard.

Santa Monica Boulevard

Santa Monica Boulevard is the heart of West Hollywood’s LGBTQ+ community and its bars, and the route of LA Pride.

The Sunset Strip runs through West Hollywood, between Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

The Design District

Around Melrose Avenue and Robertson Boulevard, galleries and design showrooms mix with restaurants such as Craig’s.

Our advice: dinner on Melrose, a show on the Strip and a nightcap at the Tower Bar.
